Search Items in Shopping Cart

Overview

A search box has been added to Cart Configuration Items in the ShalomCloud shopping cart. This feature is intended for users who manage carts with a large number of configuration items and need a faster way to locate specific entries.

Where to Find It

Navigate to:

• Shopping Cart → Configuration Items for cart

A new search box appears on this screen.

What the Search Looks At

The search evaluates text in these fields only:

• Item Name
• Item Description

It does not search:

• Group codes
• Numeric identifiers
• Other code-based or numeric fields

How Matching Works

The search is designed to balance precision and flexibility:

• Entering a single keyword returns items where that keyword appears in the name or description.
• Entering multiple keywords narrows results to items that match the combined terms across the name and description.

This means users do not need to know which specific field (name vs. description) contains the relevant wording.

Examples

• Searching for Purim returns any configuration item with Purim in the item name or description.
• Searching for Purim Carnival narrows results to items matching Purim and Carnival across the name/description text.
• Searching for kids Shabbat finds matching items even if one word appears in the name and the other appears in the description.

Clearing the Search

To return to the full list of configuration items:

• Clear the search box (blank it out)

The full cart configuration item list will be displayed again.

Intended Outcome

The search behavior aims to avoid being:

• Too tight (missing relevant items due to strict exact matching)
• Too loose (returning too many unrelated items)

It accomplishes this by searching all entered terms and evaluating them against the combined text of the item name and description.
